Fall Fashionably

As we know it, August is officially the last month of summer.
Have you checked out your wardrobe which of your fall wear needs updating or, needs new additions? Whichever your case is, it always pays to start scouting early for fashionably chic fall wear.

And today, I am specifically featuring Angela of Windy City Knits.
Why Windy City Knits? Because her designs are classic, stylish and enduring – you’ll never go wrong with them. Not forgetting quality and workmanship, nothing beats handmade quality from the heart!

For fall, I always love mixing browns with red accents, and Windy City Knits have just THE perfect shade of red infinity cowl scarf ($20) and THE most adorable red fingerless mitten gloves ($22)! Here, I have styled with mochalicious shades of Helmut Lang’s asymmetrical top, throw over a Donna Karan drape wool jacket with Maxmara trousers that cuts off at the ankle, and finishing it off with Michael Antonio’s red suede booties.

You can also find that same chic cowl in smooth delicious honey caramel ($20). In fact, you can have it your favorite color, just ask Angela.

I adore this rich indigo cowl ($30) in pretty scallops and patterned texture!
Definitely would add a touch of femininity with your black or dark brown leather jacket – gives the ironic contrast.

I couldn’t resist doing another style board featuring Windy City Knit’s avocado green cowl ($32) – it’s so princess like, and green is my favorite color! It has a drawstring knitted cord that is just too cute! Styling alongside is Fabiana Filippi asymmetric sleeve sweater in light taupe, Sheinside high waist skirt (I know, the highlight of this skirt is the high waist but its covered by the sweater… I simply love the overall shape and color of the skirt), gorgeous Ralph Lauren brown leather boots, AND throw in a sweet knitted bracelet ($10) with sparkling beads and a dream charm!

There’s even a knitted bracelet in red and parisian charms ($10)! Ooh-la-la!

So click on down to Windy City Knits and start preparing your wardrobe for fall!

5riday Loves Green

Happy Friday my dear friends!
How has the week been treating you?

Popping in for awhile to exercise my finger joints by typing on the keyboard before I resume speed beading, and while I am at it, what better way to kill two birds with one stone by sharing some of the things I love on Etsy with you!

Some of you may know that my favorite color is green, though I love many other colors, green seems to find its way to my heart most.
I hope you too will find something green here to love :)

Enjoy! XO JR ❤

Vintage 70s Lime Green Culottes, from Victoria Westbury, $35

I am a culottes girl, been wearing them since a teen.
My first pair was light cream, slightly flared, and of herringbone cotton sewn by my mother.
It was perfect and the envy of all my schoolmates.
This sparked my affair with culottes, the second one being a green, crisp and crumply synthetic piece from ESPRIT.

Statement fiber and suede necklace, from Super Little Cute, $42

I like this for its material and shape. Its soft look yet statement with its multiple strands of smooth suede.

Hand Painted Ceramic Tea Set – Grass Fields Collection, from Yevgenia, $250

I am a tea lover and isn’t this set of hand-painted teapot and cups just so very pretty?
The woodland touch makes you feel like you are having tea with the fairies!

Noodle Bowl Set with Chopsticks – Grass Fields Collection, from Yevgenia, $95

I am sneaking this in as its from the same shop, and I definitely love if I could have these in a much bigger size… like those ramen noodle bowls. I LOVE NOODLES!

Green yoga short, from Eleven 44, $39

This would definitely be my comfort shorts to wear everyday at home!

Wool felt rug, from MOU Felt, $895

I wish I could get a bigger image of this but there isn’t, but I love it all the same :)
Great for our work space and for our Beary boy to sleep on – he loves green too, and even has his own IKEA green circle rug!

Oliva Bowl, Hand Blown Glass Bowl, from Corporan Glass, $800

Isn’t this a piece of artwork? Just look at that smooth seamless form.
The thick wall is made using an advanced technique often referred to as “Swedish” Overlay, giving a beautiful effect of depth.

Impacting Video ~ I, pet goat II by Heliofant

Watch it FULL SCREEN!
Love every bit of it ~ from the message, the original soundtrack, the animation, how detailed and synchronized the movements are, the very well presented storyline.
We are taken away and hope you will too!

Masterfully produced by Heliofant, a company based in the beautiful Laurentian mountains just north of Montreal, Canada, Heliofant is a nascent independent computer animation studio focused on creating experimental and challenging content.

Bringing together artists from the fields of dance, music, computer animation and visual arts, the company is very interested in exploring the common ground that underlies many spiritual and philosophical traditions in a lyrical form.

Sunshiny Day (Shorts)

Remember the yellow knit shorts I featured here and then mentioned I bought it here?
Here it is, all the way from Germany ~ The Knit Kid!

It was a burst of yellow sunshine in a paper bag!

Like a feather it weighed, I gingerly took it out…

Ooh, what a delectable color I admired.
My first yellow piece in the wardrobe.

Wonderfully hand-knitted by Sabrina Weigt ~ exquisite!

With much love she has knitted it and with much love I will care for it ~ ❤

After I had featured it, Sabrina has now made it available in her Etsy shop, go check it out and all her other trendy chic knits!

The shorts is soft and see-through like lace, making it a private affair pour moi.
I do not think Richard would agree to have me pose in it, chastity is my middle name ;)
But I would think this would make a lovely beachwear cover up when you wear your bikini, and its bright yellow makes it a perfect summery item!
Or, you could even wear it over leggings.

How would YOU wear it? Ideas please!

Black Agenda

It has been a long time since I bought myself an item in the bag department.
I am in need of a black tote for everyday use.
I need it to be a magic bag where I can store my essentials like a Doraemon cat.
I look for details in the shape, sewing lines, handles, textured, embellishments…
It has to be simple, stylish, classic and a comfort to my shoulders.

Which one do you think is the best candidate?

5riday Loves

Its Friday!
Its the 5th day of the week!
So we have 5riday ~ YAY!
And I want to share 5 of our favorites things we love.
A short and sweet post *wink*

Absolutely appreciate mid-century furniture for its clean form and simplicity.
I would however give this vintage metal shelf a new lease of life by spray painting it in a bright color, say neon yellow! It would then inject much life in the lobby, or corridor, or the corner of the living room.
Vintage metal shelf from CoMod, $48

Love the material’s texture, color, and the simple shape of this hanging planter. The combination of a leather strap is interesting ~ modern yet rustic for the garden area.Modern hanging planter by PutikMade, $60

Isn’t this so novel? Although it is a common sight in southeast asia and chinese countries, it definitely makes for itself a whimsical element in the home. I can see a green landscape inside, maybe in zen style of a bonsai, granules, pebbles, and miniature figurines. Or, a surreal arrangement of books, a clock, flowers, and an artificial bird. What would you put inside?

Vintage Rattan birdcages from Vintage Eclecticity, $18

Rib and Hull’s streamlined totes are so very sublime ~ love all their totes! This same tote is also in black and camel.
Dark brown leather tote by Rib and Hull, $285

When I first saw Elise’s art, I was immediately drawn to it.
It speaks to me in its abstract form. Its speaks of the stars, it speaks of the unknown.
I love the way she so cleverly interprets the constellation in her own signature.

Construction of Nebula art print 12×24 by Elise Mahan, $55

I hope you too find something you like here.
Enjoy and TGIF!
