Style: Kenzotric

Hola! I hope Friday has been treating you all right :D
Though I do feel a sense of heaviness in the ambience and within, it has been bearable as long as I thread lightly – we believe it has got something to do with the impending eclipse happening this Sunday. The cosmic vibrations do affect us whether we like or not, so let’s keep check of ourselves!

Well, who do we have to be the finale of the Japanese designer series week?
(1.Yohji Yamamoto, 2. Issey Miyake, 3. Atsuro Tayama)
None else but Kenzo Takada!
His SS2012 collection is all loud, colorful and fun – a huge dose of Kenzo eccentric vibe!

Here we have two style options:
A. The “Let’s rock from casual-office-Friday to a night-out with the gang”
B. The “No casual-Friday allowed but still going to chill out with the gang”

Style: Mannish Lightness

Today we will feature Atsuro Tayama, a contemporary designer label from Paris.
Clean and simple lines are a signature trait amongst Japanese designers, and you will find these traits again in Tayama’s designs.

So what makes them each distinguishable?
Yamamoto’s design evoke inner feminine strength with his heavy fabrics and layering techniques.
Miyake’s pleated fabrics are rigid yet cleverly constructed to look fluid, bringing out a sense of gentleness.
And Tayama is airy but mannish, contemporary and avant-garde – creating a certain experimental mood upon the wearer.

I personally love Tayama’s designs and appreciate his process thought that goes into it. Owning a few Tayama pieces, I know they never fail to catch the attention of passer-bys.

Here are my picks from Tayama’s SS2012 collection along with our jewelry and our man, the uber funky singer/songwriter Toshinobu Kubota‘s M ★ A ★ G ★ I ★ C featuring rapper Kreva to set an upbeat mood for Thursday, yeah the weekend is coming! Happy Thursday everyone :D
